Indications and Limitations of Coverage

• Scientific evidence supporting use of hemodialysis as a safe and effective means of treatment for schizophrenia is INCONCLUSIVE at this time.

• Accordingly, Medicare does NOT cover hemodialysis for treatment of schizophrenia.
